Some Saturday nights are best spend in Freddie's apartment in Wedding with cocktails, cupcakes and watching cock-ups, ergo really bad movies.
Last Saturday was a night like that. I had to work until 21 so when I should up the first bad movie had already been watched. Trolls 2, was described as a bad movie but that they of course enjoyed it because it was so bad.
Then it was time for the next movie, The Room. Fabien has talked about this movie and he showed me some parts of it, so I knew I was in for a really bad movie. Still we all where surprised how awful this movie actually is. In the first 30 minutes there are three sex scenes, and two of them are the same one! And of course they are extremely bad. The actors doesn't seem to care enough to even try to act. The football breaks are weird and there is so much wrong with this movie.
The script is the worst. Example:
Mark: How was work today?
Johnny: Oh, pretty good. We got a new client and the bank will make a lot of money.
Mark: What client?
Johnny: I cannot tell you; it's confidential.
Mark: Aw, come on. Why not?
Johnny: No, I can't. Anyway, how is your sex life?
Half way though the movie I just wanted it to end. The writer, director, producer and main actor, Tommy Wiseau, payed for a the expenses in this movie which he was able to do because he "sold jeans" in some Balkan country.
I thought I had seen bad movies before but this bad a movie I never seen. We had a lot of fun watching this movie though laughing a lot and just wondering why things are happening, since nothing seems to make sense. Like this scene.
And we did impressions of Wiseau's terrible acting by yelling, You're tearing me apart (Lisa/any name)!
I don't recommend anyone to see this movie. If your in a crowed and can laugh about it or see it one of many theaters around the world that apparently shows it and throw spoons at the screen, then maybe. Else the rap is recommended.
Anyhow it was a night to remember because of all inside jokes we now have and I can't wait until next time with (bad) movies with these friends.

2013 is going to be magical.
Yesterday I got a text from a friend wishing me happy new years.
This is a friend I don't see or hear from that much. Mostly because we live in different countries. I texted him back wishing him the same.
When I woke up today I wrote him asking how 2013 was treating him so far. Basically good was the answer and then he wrote that 2013 is going to be magical.
Magical how, I asked. In what way will there be magic?
No spoilers, he answered.
I just smiled when I read this. I hope he is right.
Then I skyped with Mirjam and we started to plan all the things we will do in 2013. How we will spend Christmas and New Years on a couch somewhere in the southern hemisphere drinking mulled wine while watching movies. How she will move to another country. How we will spend the time when I come to the US in some months...
Even though I don't feel great today, it made me smile at all the things I have to look forward to this year.
So bring it. Bring the emotional storms of happy, sad, mad and confession. The love, the friendships and all that is beautiful and ugly. The stories of a lifetime. The moments that always will be remembered. The things that are hard but good. Bring it all and let it be magical with no spoilers.
